My 3 Favorite Social Media Tools so far are: Facebook, iCyter, & Edistorm 1. Facebook
Facebook I would like to use Facebook for student and teacher collaboration. I truly think this social media tool could keep everyone a little more connected. I think putting important due dates for assignments or be able to help solve homework issues would be a good thing. Even thought we would have students and parents sign forms to make sure they follow the guidelines, there is always going to be that one student who doesn't follow the rules and abuses the privilege.
I would give this site 4 out of 5 with a 5 being the best.
2. iCyte iCyte When I found this site, I couldn't wait to use it. iCyte lets you save and annotate entire web pages. You can also highlight the text right on the page. You can tag, search, and even share content with another person. I can see this being extremely helpful to those kids that you have to provide class notes to. Having the information highlighted would be a great thing for them. I don't see any problems yet with this site.
I would give this site a 5 out of 5. - I really like this site!
3. Edistorm Edistorm This site is also going to be great for my science discussion groups. This site will allow them to post a fake sticky note on the Smartboard and allow everyone from their group to comment on it. This is a great tool to get people to collaborate more. This may seem like to much work for some students without big results.
I would give this site a 3 out of 5. I like it, I just am not sure everyone would like it.
